4 Things to Keep in Mind When Using a Gym Shower

Most people try to avoid gym showers at all costs, but there comes a time when we all have to use them. If you don’t like walking around sweaty or have somewhere important to be after your workout, here are a few important rules of the gym shower etiquette worth keeping in mind.

Bring Flip-Flops

Flip-flops are a must in all shared showers, and gym showers fall under that category. Wearing them is a great way to reduce the risk of infections and skin conditions, including the famous athlete’s foot.

Don’t Forget Your Things

Always check if you have everything you need before you start showering so you could go back to your locker if you’re missing something. In addition to soap, shampoo, or shower gel, it’s also highly recommended to bring your own towel when you’re using a gym shower.

Be Quick

Even if enjoy taking long showers because they’re your form of self-care, you probably shouldn’t do it at the gym. Keep in mind that the number of gym showers is limited, and someone else is probably waiting for their turn.

Clean Things Up

Gym showers have a reputation for being pretty disgusting, but they’d probably look a lot better if everyone cleaned up their mess, so make sure to leave the shower nice and tidy, especially during busy hours.
