Three Reasons Why Your Roommates Hate Your Boyfriend

Ok, so you are in a new relationship. You and your partner may be totally enthralled in each other, especially since the honeymoon stage has yet to wear off. You both want to spend every waking moment together and can’t stand to be away from each other for too long in fear that two seconds of separation may magically break any sort of connection that you were feeling. And while you may love spending time with your boyfriend, your roommates may not be too thrilled about him. Here are three reasons that your roommates might hate your boyfriend.

Three Reasons Why Your Roommates Hate Your Boyfriend

He is always just there

Now, it is one hundred percent accepted and respectable that your boyfriend will be in the apartment quite often, considering that you two are dating. However, it may be a bit intrusive if he is over every second of the day because, hey, sometimes a girl just wants to walk around her own apartment pantsless or braless without the fear that she will be confronted with your boyfriend sitting on the couch in the common area.

He eats every meal in your apartment

Couples eat together and that is great. Again, one hundred percent acceptable. However, when he eats in your apartment on a constant basis and half of the silverware and bowls in the dishwasher belong to him, instead of having your roommates deal with cleaning his dishes, maybe add his name to the chore chart, ya know?

Three Reasons Why Your Roommates Hate Your Boyfriend

You guys are loud

If your roommates seem uncomfortable or irritable towards your boyfriend when he comes over, odds are it may be because they know what’s about to happen. Having extremely loud fights, conversations, or just being overly loud in other circumstances is extremely inconsiderate to those who have to live with you. So, next time you and your boyfriend start a fight over nothing, maybe try to resolve everything in more hushed tones.
