5 Shared Items Every College Dorm Room Needs

College dorms are usually not very big, and fitting two of everything into this tiny space can be a struggle. You can avoid this issue by coming to an agreement with your roommate to share some of the items in the dorm, and these five are a good place to start.

Kitchen Utensils

Utensils such as plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, pots, and pans, are usually shared between roommates, especially if you want to prepare and enjoy meals together.

Kitchen Tools

If you’re planning to buy any kitchen essentials for your dorm, such as a mini-fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, check with your roommate if they want to pitch in since these items are usually shared.

Cleaning Supplies

Cleaning will most likely be a shared activity, where you and your dormmate take turns. It makes total sense to share cleaning supplies since you most likely won’t be using them outside of the dorm.

Printer

If you can’t find a lot of affordable printing options on campus, you’ll probably be tempted to buy your own printer. This is another expense that you could split with your roommate.

TV & Gaming Consoles

Having a TV or gaming console in a dorm is not a must, but it’s a fun way to relax in your free time and bond with your roommate. Buying two pairs wouldn’t make much sense.
