Is it a Good Idea to Bring Your Car to College?

Heading to college is such a huge step in life. Starting this new chapter is nerve-wracking and exciting, and there is so much to plan and consider before moving to your new home. You’ll of course need to pack your belongings and plan your journey there. If you have your own car, then you may well be wondering whether to bring it to college with you. Here are some things to think about when deciding this.

Would You Have Somewhere to Park it?

Parking can be a huge issue in certain places, so it’s a good idea to do plenty of research beforehand to work out whether you’d have a good spot. Some colleges have specific parking lots for the students, but you may need to pay for a permit. If the college doesn’t have one then it may be a case of applying for a permit from the local municipality. Working all this out will help you to make a decision.

Would You Use It Often?

Some college campuses are spread out over the whole city or area, and as such having your own vehicle may be super helpful. Being able to drive yourself and your classmates around could be useful. But if everything is fairly close together and there are good public transport options, then you may well find you don’t need your own vehicle at all.
