The Low Carb Snack That Will Get You Through Any Class

There are so many different brands of nutrition and weight loss food on the market.  Because of the rapidly expanding fitness industry, many companies have developed in order to capitalize on people who are willing to spend some extra money on healthier snack options.  Different brands of protein bars such as Cliff Bars, Think Thin Bars, and Luna bars offer “healthy” snack options for those looking to shed a few pounds.

However, something that has been being researched more and more recently is the correlation between carbohydrates and sugar to weight.  Studies show that over consumption of carbs and sugars slows down the body’s metabolism and the body’s ability to burn fat.  Have you ever looked on the back of any of these protein bars? Some brands are loaded with added sugars and carbohydrates.  Carbohydrates is the macronutrient which source in your body is used up first.  Therefore, low carb diets, when balanced with proper consumption of fats and protein can lead to rapid weight loss because the limited influx of carbs into your body will be burned quickly and then once your carb sources have been burned, your body will burn its fat source.

Atkins bars are a good choice of protein and snack bar for those who are watching their carb intake.  Each bar ranges from about 1-6 grams of net carbs. Net carbs is the calculation of the amount of carbohydrates in grams in an item after you subtract the grams of fiber from the item.  Along with having low carbs, Atkins bars taste really good. Yes, there is some artificial sweetener hidden in the bars, but if you’re looking for a low carb protein bar alternative, these bars are the way to go.
