When you’re studying hard, you may find yourself getting hungry more often than usual. Our brains need fuel just as our bodies do, and high protein snacks are a great option when it comes to staying sated and focused. Check out this recipe for a simple savory broth which is high in protein and low in fat, for a healthy snack at any time of the day.
Ingredients (to serve 1):
- 1 cup of water
- 1 sachet of white miso paste
- 1 tablespoon of tahini
- 2 scallions, finely sliced
- 1/2 tablespoon of oil
- 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
- 1/2 red chilli, finely sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1/3 cup of peas, fresh or frozen
Instructions:
- In a pan, heat the oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the ginger, chilli and scallions. Fry for 4 – 5 minutes.
- Add the smoked paprika, stir through well.
- Add the water and the miso paste, stir through well.
- Add the peas, cook for 4 – 5 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve immediately – for an added protein boost, serve with a boiled egg.
