This Years Rankings of US Colleges

No surprises in this year’s top universities in the United States. Yale remains at the top of the list, according to College Factual. This college system evaluates more than 1,300 colleges in the US and create a ranking every year based on value, quality and other factors. The ranking methodology is based on several outcomes such as student loan default rates, graduation and retention rates.

Yale is followed by Harvard (again at second place just like last year) and Princeton University which used to be at number 9 last year! So the big news and surprise is the big jump of Princeton that rose six spots in one year only! Duke University keeps its spot as number four, just ahead of the University of Pennsylvania. In the top 10, there are also Cornell University, Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dartmouth College and the University of Notre Dame.

So what makes Yale so special to keep its first place each year? Several factors: the average starting salary is pretty high, as the earning boost, not to mention the ethnic diversity. Also there are almost as many boys as girls and the school is pretty big and well equipped.
