Challengers is one of the buzziest movies hitting the theatres this spring, and its amazing cast is one of the best things about it. Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist lead this dramedy set in the world of tennis, and we’re bringing you all the details about their academic backgrounds.

Zendaya

Zendaya has been acting from a young age, and she got her big break as the star of Disney’s Shake It Up before becoming one of the biggest Hollywood stars of her generation. Traditional college was never in the cards, but she did attend Oakland School for the Arts while pursuing an acting career.

Mike Faist

After graduating high school a year early, Mike Faist decided to pursue his acting dreams in New York. He attended the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy for two semesters but eventually dropped out and sold off-Broadway tickets to make ends meet – before eventually becoming a Broadway star himself.

Josh O’Connor

Unlike his American co-stars, the British actor Josh O’Connor had a more traditional academic journey. After attending the private St Edward’s School in Cheltenham, he studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and already found an agent during his third year.

Your standard week at college is most likely packed with classes and study sessions and any free time you have you may feel is best used to relax in a cafe or park on campus. Of course, you need those chill moments to switch off, but it’s also important to try to plan sessions with the tutors and professors from your course when possible. Here’s why.

Helps You Get to Know Each Other

Many students go through their college experience without really getting to know their teachers. This isn’t the end of the world, but it can put you in a much better position if you and your tutors are familiar with each other. You will feel more comfortable contributing to seminar discussions, and having a face to your name will help them to understand your work more deeply.

You Can Ask for Tailored Support

Having these one-to-one sessions with students is part of the tutor’s role and something you should take full advantage of. Having regular sessions allows you to ask for support for any ongoing issues you might face with your studies as well as when you have an upcoming assignment that is causing you stress. They will likely get booked up around assignments, so having regular sessions will allow you to still see them near this time.

As the temperatures rise and the days grow longer, it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine with friends. Here are three fun and exciting activities you can do together as the weather gets warmer.

Picnic In The Park

Gather your friends and head to a nearby park for a delightful picnic in the sunshine. Pack a basket with an assortment of delicious snacks, sandwiches, and refreshing drinks, and don’t forget a cozy blanket to sit on. Find a shady spot under a tree or set up camp by a tranquil lake or pond. Enjoy spending the afternoon lounging, chatting, and indulging in good food and company.

Beach Day Adventure

If you’re lucky enough to live near the coast, why not plan a fun-filled beach day with friends? Pack your swimsuits, sunscreen, and beach towels, and head to the nearest sandy shore for a day of sun, surf, and sandcastles. Take a dip in the refreshing ocean, play beach volleyball, or simply lounge on the sand and soak up the sun.

Outdoor Movie Night

Turn your backyard or patio into a cozy outdoor cinema for a movie night under the stars with friends. Set up a projector and screen, or simply hang a white sheet and use a laptop or tablet to stream your favorite films. Arrange some comfy seating with blankets, pillows, and lawn chairs, and string up some fairy lights to create a magical ambiance. Pop some popcorn, set out bowls of candy and snacks, and settle in for a night of cinematic entertainment.

Your laptop will be your loyal companion during your college years, and it’s likely you’ll often have to carry it from class to class. That’s why it’s important to invest in a high-quality laptop bag that suits your individual needs, and this brief guide will help you make the right choice.

Right Size

There’s not much use in a bag that can’t even fit your laptop, so make sure to check the dimensions and the maximum laptop screen size of the bag you want to buy before making a purchase.

Level of Protection

You’ll want your laptop bag to be protected from all the potential bumps, drops, and spills. That’s why it’s important to look for a bag made with water-proof materials that offer enough padding.

Comfort Comes First

If you’re going to be carrying your laptop bag for extended periods of time consider getting a comfy backpack with padded shoulder straps.

Extra Storage

Your laptop probably isn’t the only thing you’ll be bringing to class, so make sure to find a bag that offers enough compartments to store all the school supplies you’ll need.

Fun Design

We all want our laptop bag to be practical and comfy, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t look nice, as well. Put some time into finding a bag with a fun design that perfectly reflects your personal style.

Workout clothes don’t always come cheap, especially when you’re a college student with a limited budget. Buying pricy activewear is not an option when money is tight, and our brief guide is here to help you buy amazing workout clothes without spending a fortune.

Thrift Stores

Buying second-hand workout clothes is a great way to save money, but it can be tricky. Carefully look through the shelves and look for gently used workout gear in good condition.

Outlet Stores

Outlet stores are another great place to find budget-friendly discounted activewear, even if you want to shop for clothes from major athletic brands.

Sales Time!

Never buy activewear at full price and wait until the time is right. Always shop during seasonal sales, when most sporting goods stores and retailers offer sales and discounts on last season’s workout clothes.

Student Discounts

Try to look for sportswear brands and retailers that offer discounts for students and use them to your advantage whenever possible.

Avoid Top Brands

Your workout clothes can look good and feel comfortable even if you’re not shopping from the top brands. Off-brands sometimes offer great activewear at an affordable price so give them a shot because you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Hangovers can put a damper on your day after a night of festivities. Luckily, there are things you can do to try and mitigate the severity of your hangover. To minimize the chances of waking up with a headache and feeling groggy, here are three tips to help you avoid getting hangovers.

Stay Hydrated

One of the primary causes of hangovers is dehydration, so staying hydrated throughout the night can help mitigate its effects. Alternate alcoholic drinks with glasses of water to replenish lost fluids and prevent dehydration. Before going to bed, drink a large glass of water to rehydrate your body and flush out toxins. Consider adding electrolyte-rich drinks such as sports drinks or coconut water to help replenish lost nutrients. Keeping hydrated not only helps prevent hangovers but also promotes overall well-being and helps you feel better the next day.

Pace Yourself

Drinking alcohol too quickly can overwhelm your body’s ability to metabolize it, increasing the likelihood of getting a hangover. Pace yourself by sipping your drinks slowly and limiting the number of alcoholic beverages you consume. Stick to lower-alcohol options such as beer or wine, and avoid shots or strong cocktails that contain high alcohol content. Set a limit for yourself and stick to it, and consider alternating alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic options to reduce your overall intake.

Eat Before And During Drinking

Eating a hearty meal before drinking can help slow down the absorption of alcohol into your bloodstream and reduce the severity of hangovers. Opt for foods that are high in protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates, which can help stabilize blood sugar levels and provide a buffer against alcohol’s effects. During the night, continue to snack on nutritious foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and cheese to help absorb alcohol and prevent dehydration. Avoid greasy or heavy foods, as these can irritate your stomach and exacerbate hangover symptoms.

Flashcards are one of the most popular study tools on the market, but making your own can take forever. You might feel tempted to share flashcards with one of your classmates or download a pre-made deck, but making your own flashcards is a better idea and comes with a long list of benefits.

Better Understanding

Making your own flashcards will give you a much better understanding of the material. There are times this won’t feel easy because you’ll have to figure out certain things on your own instead of getting them on a silver platter, but this will pay off in a long run.

Active Learning

When you’re making flashcards, the learning process doesn’t start when you start studying from the flashcards, but right away. Your learning process will be much more active because you’ll have to filter through the all information and determine on your own what to focus on.

Different Approach

Every person has their own approach to learning, and that’s why using someone else’s flashcards isn’t always the best idea. If your studying methods don’t align, their flashcards might feel messy and confusing and that’s why it’s always best to make your own.

Shared housing can be a challenge. Trying to navigate the tricky world of rented accommodation with fellow young adults can be difficult, and it’s even worse when you don’t get along with your housemates. However, if you do get along with your housemates but are less keen on one of their partners, this can also be a struggle. If this situation sounds familiar, then here is some advice.

Try to Understand How Other Housemates Feel

It might be clear from behavioral cues that your other housemates either love the partner or feel similarly to you. If it’s not so obvious, then you could consider talking to them, although be careful that it doesn’t turn into an unhelpful rant. If you have similar opinions then it can be helpful to know you’re on the same page, and you can discuss whether you want to try to address the issues.

Talk to the Housemate if You Feel the Need to

You should try to work out whether the issues bothering you are serious or not. This is where talking to other housemates can help. If you decide that the issues need addressing, then gently bring this up with the housemate whose partner it is. They might not realize and can have a chat with their partner about the issues.

Push yourself to the limit during your workout, and the after-effects are guaranteed—muscle soreness, stiffness, and fatigue. But before you reach for the pain relievers, consider the power of a natural remedy—magnesium. This essential mineral plays a crucial role in muscle recovery. Here’s how.

The Mighty Mineral

Magnesium acts like a maestro in the orchestra of muscle function. It helps energy production, muscle relaxation, electrolyte balance, and improved sleep, all processes that keep your muscles working smoothly.

Getting Your Daily Dose

Magnesium is found naturally in various foods, including leafy green vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. However, dietary intake may not always be sufficient, especially for athletes with high levels of physical activity. Magnesium supplements can be a helpful way to ensure you’re getting enough of this essential mineral.

Remember to consult your doctor before starting any new supplements, especially if you have any underlying health conditions. They can advise you on the appropriate dosage based on your individual needs.

The Benefits of Optimal Magnesium Levels

By incorporating magnesium into your routine, you may experience a noticeable difference in your muscle recovery. Reduced soreness, improved flexibility, and a faster return to peak performance are all potential benefits. Remember, consistency is key for seeing results.
